Blog posts - English-translated version
I launched this website in November 2017. Since the content is quite niche and I am not a very social person, I could not expect many readers. However, through Google Analytics, I found that quite a few people have read it, and for that, I am truly grateful. I would like to sincerely thank all the readers for visiting my site.
However, the majority of the readers are not necessarily Japanese. Instead, many are from the United States and other countries where Japanese is not their first language. Recently, I uploaded English translations of some of my blog posts, but these represent only a small part of my content, as most posts are written in Japanese. I had not expected non-Japanese speakers to read my blog, so I am a bit surprised that they do, which made me wonder how they read my Japanese-language posts.
It is true that AI-powered translation tools like Google Translate can instantly translate my Japanese texts into English. However, after trying it myself, I feel it is a bit daring to rely entirely on AI for translation. To be honest, I am concerned about how well my intentions are conveyed to people who do not speak Japanese as their native language. Therefore, moving forward, I would like to translate the Japanese texts I have written and published on this website into English in a way that I am as satisfied with as possible. Of course, I myself rely heavily on AI-powered translation tools. However, I still want to do the final review myself and take my own responsibility for the translated English versions.
To be honest, I feel the Japanese sentences I write are quite sluggish. As a result, when they are translated into English, they often come across as even more sluggish than the original Japanese. Recent AI-powered translations, on the other hand, produce very sophisticated and clear English sentences. However, there are still many instances where I feel the nuance I want to convey is different. Therefore, I am not yet able to rely entirely on AI-powered translations. I believe this is more a reflection of issues with my own Japanese writing than with the AI itself. As the author of the Japanese texts, I feel it is important to provide English translations that I can be fully satisfied with.
From now on, I would like to gradually start translating my blog, originally written in Japanese, into English. Since many non-native Japanese speakers read my blog, I will do my best to make it accessible and understandable to them as well. Thank you very much for your continued support.
