I commuted from my parents' house in Tokyo to Tsukuba once a week by train or express bus. This time, too, I had no reason to expect free food for the flies. Therefore, while it was not exactly a formal arrangement, I was allowed to receive fly food and use their incubator in exchange for washing used bottles. However, as I have mentioned many times before, a round trip from my parents' house in Tokyo to Tsukuba cost several thousand yen, which was a significant expense for an unemployed person like me. Therefore, regardless of whether my next career path had been decided, I think I could only have continued this situation until April of the following year.

東京の実家から筑波まで、電車や高速バスを使って、週1で通っていました。今回も、ただで餌をわけていただくわけにもいかなかったので、そのお返しというわけでもないのですが、その分ビン洗いをするということで、餌をわけていただき、そして、恒温器を使わせていただいていました。ただ、これまでも何度も述べてきましたが、東京の実家から筑波まで、1回往復すると数千円かかってしまうので、無職の身には、やはり大きな出費になってしまいました。なので、次の進路が決まろうが決まるまいが、まあ、次の年の4月までがせいぜいのところだったと思います。
